I began my professional career in 2019, joining CODE (Pepkor) as a photographer in their Marketing Department while completing my BTech degree in Photography. This experience allowed me to refine my craft while adapting to the fast-paced demands of the fashion and retail industry. My responsibilities included styling and photographing flat lays and outfit grids for e-commerce and social media, producing catalogue imagery, and managing post-production tasks such as retouching, deep-etching, and colour correction to ensure polished visuals across multiple platforms. In 2021, I transitioned from photography into retouching when I joined Truworths International as a Retouching Specialist. This role allowed me to focus more deeply on my passion for image editing and post-production, an interest that first developed during my Photoshop classes as a photography student. At Truworths, I collaborated with stylists and photographers across multiple brands, ensuring consistency, colour accuracy, and high-quality imagery produced for e-commerce, social media, and seasonal campaigns. Alongside my industry work, CMB Photography, my personal brand, was founded in 2016 during my first year as a photography student. What began as a passion for capturing meaningful moments grew into a business that combines creative storytelling with professional client service. Through working in the retail fashion industry, I developed the ability to work efficiently under pressure while consistently delivering professional results. I am now based in Potchefstroom, where I work as a full-time Photography Lecturer at Potchefstroom Academy. In this role, I mentor and guide aspiring photographers while continuing to develop my own creative practice and industry collaborations. Through CMB Photography, I focus on capturing authentic moments and meaningful experiences. As a lifestyle photographer, I live by my motto: “A photocopy of people, places, and progress.” I believe that building genuine relationships with clients is at the heart of every great image. Each location presents a new adventure, and every event—whether a wedding, matric ball, birthday celebration, or personal milestone—is an opportunity to preserve memories that will be cherished for years to come. My goal is always to capture the essence of the moment and create images that tell a story and stand the test of time..
